The tree of Life Fellowships & Grants
Fellowships & grants
The Tree of Life is establishing a series of research, development, and communication oriented grants and fellowships. The purpose of these Fellowships and Grants is to further the science, communication, and visual storytelling about species and biodiversity conservation and habitat protection.
We are working with our partners Global Wildlife Conservation, the IUCN, and the EO Wilson Biodiversity Foundation to vet potential projects and research. We are further working with Global Wildlife Conservation as our financial sponsor to keep all monies as non-profit income.
We are allotting 15% of all profits from portrait sales, merchandise, exhibition fees, and other revenue streams to fund these Fellowships and Grants. We estimate this amount to fall between one and two million dollars.
Outreach
The Tree of Life wishes to effect people emotionally and to use that effect to direct their attention to how they live, how they consume, the decisions they make, and what is at stake. Just as the Tree represents the invaluable function and fragility of an ecosystem that we rely on to live, so the decisions and actions of all members contribute to this planet and our survival.
All purchasers of a video portrait will be named as an Ambassador on the Tree of Life website.
All museum, live venues, festivals, or municipalities will provide additional exhibition space for interpretive displays about climate change, the threat of biodiversity loss, the value of conservation science.
